TENMAT INCREASE THE LIFE OF LED DOWNLIGHTS

Temperature fluctuations dramatically reduce the life span of LED downlights. LED downlights which penetrate into the loft spaces of houses are exposed to significant changes in operating temperatures in winter and summer. The LED industry has been trying to develop solutions for this situation for a number of years including large heat sinks and even fan cooling of downlights.

Work at the Lighting Industry Association has shown that fitting a TENMAT Loft Cover to LED downlights gives total temperature stability even when the loft temperature reaches 55 deg C. The reason for this stability is that the TENMAT Loft Cover creates a thermal barrier between the loft and the downlight. The breathable nature of the material allows any heat generated to pass into the loft thus keeping operating temperatures low. The result is that TENMAT increase the life of LED downlights.
